The state of your heart determines the state of your life. Whatever affects your heart will eventually show up in your life and overall well being.
The heart of man is the control center of a man. When something is wrong with the heart, it will also impact day-to-day life.
A “broken spirit” can also be referred as a “broken heart”, this is a description of a heart that is sad, depressed, disillusioned and discouraged with life. Usually when this happens the man becomes hopeless about life. Such a man sees more obstacles than it sees opportunities. Such a life sees more problems than sees the promises of God. Such a life sees more of what the enemy is doing more than what God is doing. It’s such a terrible state of life to be in. In the name of Jesus I decree that the oil of joy in place of mourning will flood your heart today.
The contrast to a “broken spirit” is a merry heart. A heart that is full of the joy of the Lord. Not necessarily because something great is happening but because the individual recognizes that God is at work behind the scenes of our lives.
With time, the pains of grief will ease. Having a merry heart is a deliberate and conscious choice we need to make to have a long, healthy life. Circumstances may not always be right, but we can choose to condition our minds for happiness.
The joy of the Lord gives us strength to face whatever comes our way, and to be resolute in the face of challenges.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. I curse every trace of depression around your life. It is not over with you. The Ancient of Days has not changed.
