“Don’t talk about what you are experiencing, talk about what you are expecting.” Job was going through the most difficult season of his life. In the midst of it he began to talk about what he was expecting. His experience was that of death, tragedy and sickness. His expectation was “….I will come forth as gold.”
If all you are talking about is what is going through, what the doctor said and how things are not working.
Don’t forget that what you constantly talk about will build a monument in your life and dominate your mind. The direction of your mouth is the direction of your life. If the words of your mouth are not under control, then your life is out of control.
The experiences of life can be so overwhelming that they occupy virtually every conversation that we make. This must not be allowed to happen.
The unfortunate thing about life is that we can have so many negative experiences that completely drown our expectations. Some have been disappointed so many times that they don’t even want to try again. If we refuse to hope again, try again, believe again, trust again and expect again then we have resigned to fate instead of engaging faith.
Expectations keep us alive, hopeful and joyful about life. No matter what you have experienced in the past, start talking about your expectations for the future. People around you may not agree; they don’t have to. It’s your life. If your expectations are in line with the word of God, and in line with divine purpose it will not be cut short.
Job 23:10
But He knoweth the way that I take, when he hath tried me, I will come forth as gold.
