This became a big deal to me when my husband passed, as I was never in the position to take decisions alone, either for myself or for the family. This was scary and a bit challenging for me as I did not want to make mistakes, nor lead my children in directions that were not in His perfect will.
These principles really helped me, and are still helping me as a single parent.
We must learn not just to pray but we must learn to wait patiently before God expects him to speak to us. Sometimes when you pray you may not hear God immediately but as you stay open and expectant you will hear God. Expectations draw the manifestations. Habakkuk 2:1
For me, I didn't hear an audible voice, but situations, people and conversations throughout the day, or days after will confirm His Words and my desires, to know what steps to take on specific issues.
The inner man must be consciously developed. The spirit of man is the candle where divine illumination takes place. Praying in the Spirit is a major way in which we develop our recreated spirit. Praying in tongues tunes our spirit man to divine wavelength. This is something that has to become an integral part of your life. Not only when you pray in Church. This should happen almost throughout your day. This is another expression of an expectant heart. This keeps your spirit open and connected. Praying in tongues is a major sign that should follow every believer. It’s not denominations based but scripture based (Mark 16:17). We should believe more in the Bible than any church doctrine.
If you pray for 15 mins for example 10 mins should be in tongues while the remaining 5mins in your English or your native language (1 Cor. 14:4, 15, 18, Jude 20)
These are major ways by which we develop our potential to hear the voice of God for direction. We already have the potential to hear God; we are connected by the Spirit of God to that frequency but we must be sure that our antenna is properly positioned to receive divine signal per time.
