Every time God wants to move his people into their ordained place there will always arise an obstacle.
A Pharaoh
A Red sea
A wall of Jericho
A Prison as in the case of Joseph
And a Goliath in the case of David.
Goliath was actually an obstacle that was stopping the entire nation. But at this point there was a need to clear him out of the way.
The presence of Goliath wasn’t a proof of God’s absence or abandonment
David was anointed to become a King in 1 Samuel Chapter 16. But it’s obvious he did not get into that throne the same day. Between chapter 16 and 17 must have been some days, weeks, months or years. We are not told specifically.
That you have a great vision and a great prophetic word over your life does not guarantee that they will come to pass immediately. Obstacles will rise at different levels and in different shapes.
The Killing of Goliath did 3 things for David
I. Gave him national recognition.
II. Gave him access into the palace.
III. Brought him into acceptance.
As young as David was, nobody was talking about his age anymore. It was no longer relevant. These 3 basic things must also take place in our lives: RECOGNITION, ACCESS AND ACCEPTANCE. This applies to virtually every area of life.
Some things we go through in life take us through His route to destiny.
1 Sam 17:46 NLT
“Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head…”
