LOSING A PART OF YOURSELF

The loss of a close family member creates extra depth and complexity to your grief. You shared a special and intimate connection with your loved one, and this relationship helped you define who you were. Losing this person has literally ripped you apart on the inside, leaving you unsure of your own identity.

A friend, speaking of the death of his wife, says, "When Sally died, it was as if someone took a giant samurai sword and just cut me right down the middle. I kept asking myself and God, 'How am I supposed to go on with one leg, with one arm, with half a brain? How am I supposed to do all of this?"

There is hope for you. Your identity can be found again when you abide in the Lord Jesus Christ and place your faith in Him. This will not happen overnight, and the process may be very painful. But Jesus will certainly help you as you depend on Him.

I personally found this extremely difficult because I got little or no support. I couldn't figure out how friends, relations, in-laws, coworkers couldn't sense my pains and hardship. I couldn't think of why I deserved to be abandoned and rejected when I needed them most. Fortunately, God has been constant, my children had to push their own pains behind them to support me physically and emotionally as they saw me melting down in grief.

I am not a perfect person, but i wouldn't think i am so bad not to get sincere help from people.

Few people that I opened up to later turned against me.

My experience gave birth to this platform. God laid it in my heart to always make myself available to help those grieving within my sphere of influence.

Practically, God allowed me to go through the 'School of Grief'.

If I could survive grief, I don't see anyone that can be swallowed up in it. God that pulled me through is there with you.

Embrace genuine help if offered, you need all the support you can get.

Halleluyah!

1 John 4:15-16

"If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him".
