Prayer was the first that was difficult for me to settle with when my husband passed. I have been such a big time praying person (to the best of my ability and knowledge), but got disappointed at the loss of my husband.
Prayer is an act that we need to understand. It is like a remote control, you can use it to change the channel of your life if you don't like what you see.
Prayer helps you to establish your personal walk with God. In the natural world when a child is born for several years the child will have to depend on the parents for so many things. As the child grows a time will come that the child will have to stand on his own and face life by himself. At this stage he cannot expect the parents to pay his school fees and then still help him to read and write exams in school.
The journey of life is an individual race and each one of us must have a personal walk with God. No matter how prayerful your parents or your pastor are, there are issues of life they can’t handle for you because they are also limited with their own challenges to face. You will have to rise up and begin to pursue God in prayer for the peculiarity of your own journey in life. This is also important because as helpful as other people can be they have different lanes in the race of life.
You will have to run your own race.
You need personal oil in your own personal lamp to run the race of your life. No one ever borrows fire to cook. Each person will have to make their fire.
These are illustrations that helps us to know how important our prayer life is. Thank God for family prayer time and church prayer meetings but you must have your own personal prayer life.
Deep understanding of the importance of prayers will make us draw closer to God. The reality of the loss of a loved one is so painful that it is difficult to kind of excuse God out of the deal, the truth is that He is still The Almighty, and the ONLY safe place of refuge.
Where there is no prayer there is no fire. Enemies easily hide in and strike prayer less lives.
Ask for grace to keep praying and not getting weary.
