One of the most dangerous decisions we can make in life is to give up on ourselves.
When certain expectations are not met within a frame of time, There is a tendency to give up or accept whatever comes as fate. The popular saying “Winners never quit and quitters never win” is still so true today.
The woman with the issue of blood had been in that condition for so many years. She had gone to every available physician, done all the required tests but nothing changed. She had spent all her living on that sickness. Her condition was getting worse. It’s natural to want to give up. From the story, it was clear that she did not give up on herself. She had a ray of hope lingering deep in her heart. When she saw Jesus her hope was stirred up again to reach out for her miracle.
It’s clear from scriptures that God does not give up on any of us. Naomi and Ruth lost everything in the land of Moab. In the midst of it all things were turned around for them. Samson made the greatest mistake of his life. He betrayed the grace of God in his life. At the point of losing all, God restored him back and even at the point of death he had victory over his enemies.
The prodigal son wasted all his resources on careless living. The father had every right not to take him back. The father never gave up on him. Thank God the prodigal son did not give up on himself. He took the step to go back home. If he had stayed where he was nothing would have changed for him.
Take those little steps forward, and God pulls you higher.
Mark 5:25, 27
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years...When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
