The NLT of our scripture today says: “Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There is no way you can go against this Philistine. You are only a boy, and he has been in the army since he was a boy.” David came into the battleground and saw how confused and afraid King Saul and other men were in the face of the warrior. In verse 32 David was prompted by God to go and fight the giant. He offered himself to face the Giant. The predictions of King Saul were a clear indication that David should not even try it.
Listen to the words of King Saul paraphrased: You can’t go and fight this Philistine. You are too young for this kind of battle. There is no way you can go against this Philistine. You don’t have the required experience for this kind of fight. If the battle was based on age then King Saul himself should have been able to fight the Philistines. If the battle was based on Physical build, King Saul himself was more suited for the battle.
What are Predictions?
Predictions are suggested outcomes of an event.
The possible conclusion that is pronounced over an issue.
From a natural perspective the predictions were right. If we live our lives based on natural human predictions there are places you will never go, and there are things you will never become. The accuracy of human predictions does not in any way cancel the possibilities of God’s eternal purpose for our lives.
The loss of my husband was so devastating that I didn't believe in myself again and the efficacy of the Word. I was so scared to trust The Word again because I prayed for my husband's resurrection, but no results came.
Looking back now, I realized there are some things we will not grasp the full knowledge of until we see Him.
I had no help coming from anybody, so I had to be more radical with my faith by pulling out all the answered prayers from my archive, and planted myself in Him and His capabilities. He did so many wonders that have become unimaginable noted miracles in our community up to this day.
Hold on to Him. Don't limit Him.
1 Sam 17:33
Saul answered David, “You can’t go and fight this Philistine. You’re too young and inexperienced – and he’s been at this fighting business since before you were born.”
