There is nowhere in the Bible that tells us that we’ll not face challenges as believers. Challenges will come at different times and at different levels in our lives, but in the midst of it all one thing that will keep our heads high and confident is to know that God is faithful, and He is with us.
The most painful experience in my life was when I got widowed. I never saw myself facing it nor going through it.
It was difficult and too heavy a cross for me to carry. I was ridiculed, accused, lied on, abandoned, rejected, betrayed, etc. I was so afraid to face life again, but avoidance was not a way, His grace kept me on.
Gradually, I started getting used to the pains, and living with it. The 'cross' became part of my body weight. I was carrying it with grace and absolute confidence in His divine support, but not without the shame and ridicules from people around. Gradually with time, I lost absolute consciousness of people and their unending attacks and reminders of the weights of shame, incompetencies and incapabilities that came with the cross.
Praise God that He never looked at my weaknesses, and He has helped me this far. Positioning me in places of grace and opportunities to glorify Himself in me.
Those pains and disappointments that come from people or circumstances you face in this journey are all part of the package. They are part of the cross to carry, but God will obviously showcase Himself in your life, just hold on.
The truth is that nobody expects you to survive this season, but you will by His grace. Nobody feels your pains, especially if they've not been through it. Myself and my children were rejected, abandoned and betrayed by very close friends and relatives, they saw everything wrong in everything i did or said.
Don't reduce the weight of the cross by cutting it. Don't take shortcuts, wait faithfully on Him, He gives grace to carry the weights.
Now people will run away from you, but they will join you to dance when they see you dancing with it eventually.
Expect hatred and jealousy when you don't showcase your pains. To them dancing with your cross, sucking in your pains, and not talking about it us an expression of absolute comfort and ease, that. They are pained when they cannot figure out why you are happy carrying the weight of your cross in delight.
If God can help Ruth in the Bible, He will help you. You need to invite Him into your situations. Don't carry 'peoples' burdens with your cross, the cross is heavy enough.
Hallelujah!!
Matthew 11:28 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
