March 2025
Since 2009, our impact has steadily grown as we address both educational and basic infrastructure needs. While supporting 21 current students from primary school through university and celebrating 9 past university graduates, we've also expanded into providing essential resources to rural communities.
On March 24, 2025, we drilled a water well in Ogbaagba, Osun State, Nigeria, bringing clean water to hundreds of families who previously lacked reliable access. Our mission encompasses both developing future leaders through education and meeting immediate community needs.
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Since our founding in 2009, your generous partnership has been the backbone of Grief to Grace Ministry. Today, we're proud to support 21 students across Nigeria, Uganda, India, and Malawi with another 9 university graduates already serving their communities with the education you helped provide.
Our recent water well project in Ogbaagba, Osun State, Nigeria represents our expanding mission beyond education. Each initiative, whether supporting a student's education, financing business startups for widows, or providing clean water, creates a lasting impact for communities facing hardship.
In this newsletter, we introduce you to seven of our scholars from Nigeria and Uganda. Their stories represent the determination we see in all our students. Despite losing parents at young ages, they pursue education with remarkable commitment, knowing your support has made their dreams achievable.
As we continue our work in 2025, we remain dedicated to our mission of turning grief into grace. Thank you for being part of this journey since 2009. May God continue to replenish your sources.
With Gratitude,
Adeola Andrew
In this quarter's newsletter, we're proud to introduce 7 of our 21 current students. These scholars represent the diverse talent we support through our scholarship program, with many pursuing nursing degrees at Trinity University in Lagos. Since 2009, we've had 9 graduates successfully complete their education through our program, with these current students following in their footsteps. Two of our featured scholars—Christiana and Afeoshemime Ogbofaemi—are siblings who lost their father in the same tragic accident, highlighting how our support impacts entire families.
Daniel is the youngest of three children. Daniel father passed when he was an infant; he never knew his father. Since then, his mother, a fashion designer, has worked hard to provide for Daniel and his siblings, despite many challenges. Grief to Grace Ministry has served as a beacon of hope, sponsoring Daniel's education as well as that of his siblings. The ministry has covered his school fees, provided financial assistance, and gifted him with a laptop and clothing. Daniel is pursuing Nursing studies and is deeply grateful to God and to Grief to Grace Ministry for making his academic journey possible.
Christianah is the first child in her family and comes from Oyo State. In February 2022, she lost her mother to a serious illness, which was devastating for her family. Since then, life has been extremely challenging for her father, who works as a shoemaker and struggles to provide for Christianah and her siblings. Grief to Grace ministry stepped in to support her family financially. Grief to Grace sponsors Christianah's education since she gained admission to Trinity University, paying her school fees, providing occasional stipends, a laptop, and clothing. Now in her third year of Nursing studies, Christianah is deeply grateful for the support that has enabled her to continue her education.
Peace is the eldest son in his family. He lost his father in 2015, which created considerable challenges for his family. His mother struggled to provide for Peace and his siblings, requiring him to stop school and engage in menial jobs to support his family. Grief to Grace stepped in to provide vital support, enabling his education at Trinity University. Their sponsorship has included financial stipends, a laptop, clothing, provisions, and payment of his school fees.
Afeoshemime is the second child in her family from Edo State. She lost her father in an accident in April 2016. After his passing, her mother, a fashion designer, struggled to support four children without help from extended family members. After completing secondary school, Afeoshemime worked as a salesgirl to assist her family financially. Grief to Grace ministry helps to sponsor her education at a private university – something she hadn't imagined possible even when her father was alive. The ministry has paid her school fees, provided her with a laptop, given her occasional stipends, clothing, and other necessities. Afeoshemime is now in her final year of Business Administration studies.
Christiana is the youngest of four siblings from Edo State. In 2016, she lost her father in a tragic accident, which dramatically changed life for her family. Her mother works as a fashion designer and has struggled to provide for Christiana and her siblings. Grief to Grace ministry has been a true blessing to her family, providing crucial financial support. Since Christiana began her studies at Trinity University, the ministry has sponsored her education by covering her school fees, providing occasional stipends, a laptop, and clothing. Christiana is now in her final year of Nursing studies.
Einstein (7) and Elijah (6) are brothers from Uganda who lost their father in November 2022 to a tragic accident. Their mother, Ashabe Katushabe, was 26 weeks pregnant with their youngest brother Ezekiel at the time of their father's passing. Despite facing this tremendous loss, the boys have continued their education at Sir Apollo Kagwa Primary School, with Einstein in Primary 3 and Elijah in Primary 2. Their mother, now 32, is raising three young boys on her own. Grief to Grace Ministry provides support for their school fees and educational needs, helping to ensure these young boys can continue their studies despite their difficult circumstances. Grief to Grace has also sponsored their mother in starting a used clothes sales business.
